I believe I have completed all of my work. I must admit this was a good experience overall. My procrastination caused me to get way behind and to stress about this. But honestly as I began working on this, I seriously began to enjoy. For me it is fun to learn because it is relevant to marketing and I can see hands on how things actually work. Moreover, the fact that I was able to gain some insight not only on posting on blogs and such by how people can benefit from their own blogs (for instance through adsense or amazon associates) made in that much more important to me.
Thank you Professor Brown for a good semester. Good luck with Tim Wooley's Racing and your future endeavours!

Grammatical Change to Flea Market
Oooops. Forgot about this...Under the wiki page flea market I made a grammatical change to the line....The car boot sale is similar to a flea market, however is more popular in the United Kingdom. Prior to my change it said but is more popular. But certainly shouldn't be used in this situation. It sounds a littly awkward and isn't grammatically correct. Very small change, I know, but every little counts.
Boothwyn, PA Wikipedia Reflection
I guess I am a dork my I did 5 wikipedia edits. My additions to the Boothywn, PA wikipedia page were not the most significant, however, certainly provide information about the character of the town, the history of the town, and what to do in the town. I discussed Booths Corner Farmers Market in which I have a store in and Brigg's Auction. Both of these businesses are extremely important to the town and its fair to say both are meeting places for the town. While similar wikipedia pages on towns don't have specifics on businesses, something about Boothywn, PA I felt it made sense these businesses were mentioned as they do play such an important role in the town.
Haddonfield Memorial High School
I had some fun posting under my high school's wikipedia page. I of course had to add a line on an award me and my fellow teammates one in cross country. I also added an award the yearbook team won in 1990. While I thought this was kind of a funny addition the award was special to some and was relevant to the page. Lastly, adding a line about our All Sports Award success was probably my best contribution to this page. This is something the high school and the community is extremely proud of and certainly should be on here. Other than my additions I have found minimal changes through my time working on this wikipedia page.
Online Poker Wikipedia Reflection
The online poker wikipedia page seems to be always changing, especially as this business is drastically changing because of laws and such. I feel as a member of the wiki world I contributed the most under this page. My contribution under the differences between conventional poker page most certainly crystalizes the specific differences. Prior to this it was rather general. Someone looking to actually understand the difference between games will now truly know the differences and as a result I feel wikipedia is a valuable source. In addition to my serious posts I experimented on this page to see how long it takes for a wiki to be changed. I posted how I am an online player that should be avoided. Within hours this was taken down. This certainly shows to me that people care about what is being posted and also such a term as online poker is constantly being searched.
Reflection on Flea Market Page on Wikipedia
As a flea market vendor I felt it was neccessary to ad to the wikipedia community under flea market. Similar to my other wikis, their has been a minimal evolution to the flea market page. However, thats not to say people are not paying attention. When I put on some information about one of the biggest flea markets in the nation, Stormville Airport Flea market one wiki user immediately took it off. I think I understand why. That is wiki users don't want to see such pages being used for people to just try to gain exposure if it isn't neccessarily relevant. However, I place little value on getting Stormville Airport Flea Market any more exposure and feel this is important to this page. I also added what one should look for at flea markets as far as merchandise and said a little something about counterfiets and bootlegs as it is important customers go into such a shopping experience educated.
Evolution of Haddonfield, NJ
The Haddonfield, NJ wikipedia pages has changed only slightly since I have began working on it. I have added information on the history of Haddonfield, special events in Haddonfield, and also on popular culture. Of my additions only the one on popular culture has been changed and only in the slightest. Town pages generally don't change much in the short run as the basic information remains the same. The pages may grow but generally such subjects don't have wiki users constantly updating and adding.

Nicole's Blog
I thought it was pretty funny Nicole did Wikipedia work on Deer Park. Deer Park is a fun place. In the beginning of the year it seemed like no one really went there but by the end it seemed like the place to be every Tuesday and Thursday night. Good work on this Nicole! Maybe I will see you there!
Kristie's Blog
I noted on Kristie's Blog the importance of businesses controlling, monitoring, removing, and responding to what is said abou them on the internet. As much as blogs and wikipedia's can have a positive impact on businesses they may also have a negative impact. With this said businesses should note the influence such sources may have and of course have someone responding or removing any potentially harmful postings.
Kristie's Blog
Kristie and I both find it interesting how businesses can benefit from being marketed on Wikipedia. I pointed out that one should be more critical in regards to the accuracy of a post involving a less established business or one being viewed by considerabl less people. Almost no matter what this type of exposure will be positve for businesses.
Brenna's Blog
I agree with Brenna. Understanding basic HTML is very important. This class's teachings were helpful in that. While I am glad I wasn't the one called on to go up there to work on the HTML code in front of the class it was helpful.
Brenna's Blog
I find Brenna's mothers business to be rather interesting. I have minimal computer skills but I have had millions of creative ideas for the web that with a company like iColorStudio I could maybe follow through on one of them.
Amazon Associates
I have come to find the amazon associates program to be a pretty cool. It's extremely easy to set up, it's a great idea for Amazon as it increases their exposure in "niche" markets, and its great for any website ownder or blogger who is an associate as they have an opportunity to make a profit from the traffic they drawl to such links when of course they turn into sales. When looking into amazon associates I stumbled upon the official blog for amazon associates. Being so fitting I figured I'd put the link on my blog, in case anyone was intrested. Here it is...

Wikipedia Edit
Antoher addition to the online poker page on wikipedia. "In addition online poker sites used systems to detect a players usage of programs such as Poker Prophecy; which give a player an unfair advantage by giving information about the players at the table." I had a bad experience with this as attempted to use poker prophecy and was boted off party poker after having much success. Oh well!
Wikipedia Edit
I added a little fun fact to my town's wikipedia page (Haddonfield, NJ). This edit had to do with the harosaurus: "the hadrosaurus was a duck-billed dinosaur (a plant-eater) discovered and lived during Cretaceous period." Hoped this was a positive contribution to the wiki world!
Wikipedia Edit
Another edit to "Haddonfield Memorial High School"...I added an atheltic accomplishment from 2001... "Haddonfield Memorial High School's cross country teamed ranked 4th in The Harrier's Nike / Foot Locker Super 25 National Rankings in 2001." I was on this team, thus pretty proud of this achievement.
Wikipedia Work
From my last 3 edits on wikipedia I recieved one deletion from my edit on the term flea markets. I added a flea market worthy of being noted on this page however someone removed my work. They probably did this, thinking an owner was attempting to promoted his/her business through wikipedia, however it truly wasn't.

Wikipedia Edit Boothwyn, PA
I made an addition to the term Boothwyn, PA on Wikipedia. I posted "The famous Brigg's Auction has been in Boothwyn, PA since 1932". This auction is represents a major part of the towns history and is a unique experience that tells a lot about the towns character.
Reflection on Class
Reading the article in class yesterday opened my eyes to how drastically media is changing. It will be interesting to see where we are 10 years from now. Its pretty amazing to me the power of media & technology and its influence on us. For instance, facebook. While I am not a member I notice my friends spending hours a day on it. Its certainly now a major part of their lives and almost seems to be an addiction. But from a marketing standpoint it goes to show the incredible opportunities presently and the importance of innovation.
Wikipedia Edit Flea Market
I decided to put on a little information about a flea market that I know of which is bigger than anyone I have ever seen. Here is my work..."Another flea market worth mentioning is Stormville Airport Antique Show & Flea Market. This flea market attracts over 600 vendors from more than eight states. Shoppers travel well over one hundred miles, often by the busload, to pursue the hunt for bargains." Stormville is a incredible experience that anyone looking to see what a true flea market is like should visit. To view click here
Wikipedia Edit Haddonfield, NJ
Another wikipedia edit. This was for my hometown Haddonfield, NJ. I expanded in the area of "special events". A previous wiki user wrote about block parties being a tradition in town. I choose to elaborate on this a little bit because I do remember loving them as a kid. Here is my work...Block parties are a great way for neighbors to get to know one another as they bring all the families together to enjoy good food and fun activities. In addition they help create a sense of pride for your street.

Wikipedia Edit
Made another edit to my high schools page, haddonfield memorial high school. Under awards I added "Haddonfield Memorial High School was Silver Crown Yearbooks High School award winner in 1990." I know nothing about that years yearbook however when googling haddonfields awards that came up. I figure it is important, right?
Wikipedia Rejection
My second "online poker" edit was removed as expected. It was a little surprising how fast it was removed. Maybe this goes to show that their are a lot of people on wikipedia looking to make sure things are represented properly.

Class
I have enjoyed our guest speakers so far as they have opened my eyes to the fact that incredible opportunities on the internet all realistic to anyone as the barriers to entry are relatively minimal. This is a beautiful aspect of the internet as it in a way evens the playing field for new businesses. I especially like the dealcathcher presentor. The business idea is great, it makes sense, and it seems pretty fun. It was pretty amazing to me how just a simple idea expand into something great. Definitely was an inspiration to me, and reinforces the importance of following through with ideas (so did Professor Brown's life experience working with that group).
Wikipedia Work
In an effort to learn more about the Wikipedia process I posted something that should be changed. Under the term online poker I made an edit to online poker portals and forums I added on these you may pick up great tips such as to avoid playing against party poker player mikeypb as he will most likely take you for everything. I know this is really adding anything to the wikipedia world and would defeat the purpose of wikipedia. However what happens from here will allow me to learn.
Wikipedia Work
Although this is getting a little redundant I have yet to recieve any changes to my first two Wikipedia edits to Haddonfield Memorial High School or Haddonfield, NJ. This is beginning to make me think...either I am just a master editor or wikipedia can be a relatively risky resource as its information could be potentially unreliable. I am just picking the right types of terms or edits or are there just not enough people paying attention and making changes. Part of me wants to post something ridicolously off-topic and see how long it takes for changes to be made. I think I'm going to do that.
Wikipedia Edit
I am continuing to get free advertisement for my store through the Wikipedia search Boothwyn, PA as I noted it was the home of Booths Corner Farmers Market. My edit remains unchanged and although I like this I need someone to change one of my edits so I have something to work on and something better to talk about. I bet you it is kind of insulting to have an edit changed.
Wikipedia Work
To no suprise their has been no changes made to my flea markert wikipedia edit. This topic is probably searched rather infrequently and therefore is less likely to be changed.
Wikipedia Work
I was extremely suprised to see that their was not a single edit to my online poker work on wikipedia. Considering the amount of poker geeks I would have expected change to be made almost immediately. It has been over 3 weeks now and nothing!
I'm Back...
Well... it's been a while since I have posted. But I am looking to end on a strong note despite the senoritis I might be experiencing. I have been paying attention in class though, and took Professor Brown's advice to bet Curlin to win the Kentucky Derby. That surely backfired as I lost 50 smackers. But I will say, it made watching the race that much more fun.

Wikipedia Edit
I searched the term flea market on Wikipedia and made a small edit. I thought it was somewhat suprising yet important that the sale of counterfeit or bootleged goods was mentioned as it often exists in the "flea world". The line I edited now looks like this...They have also sometimes been used as an outlet for [[copyright infringement|bootleg]] movies and music or [[counterfeit]] goods ranging from clothing, shoes, handbags, fragrances, etc. I wanted to give some specifics to help inform someone who is unaware of the types of counterfeit goods that are frequently found in such markets.
Wikipedia Edit
I edited online poker on Wikipedia. In the section discussing the differences between conventional poker and online poker I decided to add some of the specific tells internet players may look for when playing as opposed to the general differences that were expressed on the wikipedia page prior to my edit. Instead, online poker players learn to focus more keenly on speed of play, use of check boxes/auto plays, opponents fold/flop percentages, chat box, waiting for the big blind, beginner's tells, and other behavior [[Tell (poker)|tells]] that are not physical in nature. While may edit may not sound or flow as well as the original post it is most definitely more informative and accurate to the types of tells online players look for.
Keyword STIUQXELA
Our Buad477 is conducting a google experiment on the word STIUQXELA. Right now STIUQXELA directs you to the Green Bay Packers website, for reasons I don't know. As a result of this class STIUQXELA will be a word that will appear on many blogs.

Considering the Type of Broadband User I am
I find myself to have shift amongst three types of broadband users through my college career. When I first came to school I would be considered a social clicker, as I was constantly iming, emailing, shopping, and looking up the news online. Upon being introduced to poker my freshman year I became a content king, as I was constanly playing online poker. Easily 2.5 hours a day. Now however, with considerably less time on my hands, I find myself being a fast tracker, basically only using the internet to seek outs news and information. News, sports, weather, and stock reports and looked at daily for a relatively short period of time. No longer do I really play games online, im very much, and even my emailing has decreased. I am however, guilty of constantly refreshing my screen as most fast trackers are.
Viacom Vs. Google's YouTube
While I love YouTube I definitely think Viacom is going to win the case here. I definitely feel that YouTube should have been aware of the copyright infrigement. The Website definitely induces users to post pirated material to an extent. And lastly the web site profits from the violations. Since case law states that if any of these acts occur a website can be liable, I feel Google will be. However they will continue to try to prove that upon each request to remove material they acted, and that they were unaware of the pirated material until they were asked to move it. While there is evidence of YouTube taken action against pirated material, their were definitely instances where they probably did not. Hopefully YouTube and Viacom can come to some type of agreement and perhaps make arrangements so that both companies can profit. YouTube suggests that have helped Viacom's business by creating buzz. While it has created some buzz it has also taken away some viewers which is what they need to profit. Therefore through good business hopefully we will see both companies work out a plan for the future.

Wikipedia Edit
Another edit I made was for the town of Boothwyn, PA. I still don't know how to add a headline some my addition isnt in the best spot. However I choose to add the fact that one of Boothwyn's attractions is Booths Corner Farmers Market. This is a major drawl to the town and is commonly where the townspeople shop. To view my edit go to Booths Corner Farmers Market
VALS Survey
Looking at other peoples blogs in the class I noticed someone posting about their VALS Survey. Having no idea what it is I clicked on it and began to take it. I just completed it says that I am achiever and an innovator. While these both sound great I question the accuracy. I guess I'd like to be considered and achiever and I feel for the most part I am, an innovator I am not. I have good ideas but I have never really looked to invent or drastically change anything but rather perhaps make improvements. After completing this survery I went to my Buad477 Blog to write about it. Once I clicked away from the survery results the screen popped back to the homepage asking me to take the survey again. I went through it once again changing only a few questions by degree not really by general opinion and my results were completely different. With this said such a survery can give you a general idea of how you are perhaps but it something that must be taken with a grain of salt as the simplest question can change things drastically.
Wikipedia Edit on my Hometown, Haddonfield
My first wikipedia edit was on my high school. Of course the next thing to come to mind would be to edit my hometown as it is relatively easy to find things to add and/or edit. One kind of claim to fame our town has is that a scene in the famous Halloween movie was shot in our town, and the writer of the movie also grew up in town. It seems the person who posted this fun fact was a little bit uncertain as to whether or not the one scene was actually in Haddonfield or just around it. Knowing the scene I was confident it was in our town as it is just blocks away from my house. With this said I made the edit and am feeling good. If you would like to check it out please go to Haddonfield, NJ
25 Things I Hate About Google
Searching through Click for an article to post I stumbled upon "25 Things I Hate About Google" which got my attention because I love Google. I love Google because it is extremely fast, efficient, and simple to use. I can type google.com in less than a second and have a search result 95% of the times of what I am looking for. It is a free service and doesn't send ads or pop ups my way. Danny Sullivan, however, feels differently. In his article "25 Things I hate About Google" Sullivan brings out some of the negative aspects of Google's and in a sense opens my eyes to some of the draw backs of Google. Sullivan suggests that Google search results are manipulated and LIE, lack of related search options, inconsistent results from country to country, aren't responsive enough to click fraud claims, self serve adsense creates to much junk, etc. This were some of the problems that Sullivan pointed out that caught my attention. Continuing Sullivan suggests that blogging is full of junk, something Professor Brown my disagree with. He finds that Google doesn't act fast enough on copyright infringment through blogs and such. One Google service I have no experience with but most likely will in the future is GMAIL. However Sullivan has caused me to question its effienct. Gmail doesn't display more than 100 items (considering the junk mail I get this is horrible), doesn't have customized blacklists (which are useful), and the fact that its free (this I have no problem with). Overall, it is obvious Google has some flaws, however one could not argue its incredible influence on our lives and our uses of the internet.
Global Neighbourhoods
Reading "Bulldog PR University Talking Points" on Global Nieghbourhoods open my eyes to the way marketing is changing as a result of the internet and its more extensive uses. This article helped crystalized some general ideas on this new-aged marketing. The writer of this article, Rob La Geese suggests that marketing and PR more specifically, is much more influenced by buzz-generating rather than attempting to bulder relationships. Rob's experience in PR is probably similar to many and opens your eyes to the importance of always be willing and able to change your business practices/strategies in order to remain effective and current with times. Rob's approach may have become kind of stale, one that was seen time over time and businesses were looking for something different. His experience also goes to show the kind of impact blogs, wikis, and such have on businesses. People more than ever are influencing each other "on what to buy, where to go, listen to, watch and even maybe who to vote for". A big consideration that needs to be made by PR people and marketers is how to assimilate blogs, wikis, and other major online influences into their projects. This article also gives some insight into global neighborhoods and how they work. Very interesting.

Wikipedia
I made my first edit to one of my Wikipedia articles. It was considerably easier than I would have expected. I searched my high school (Haddonfield Memorial} and decided to make an addition under the Awards & Recognitions tab. My addition was...
Haddonfield Memorial High School won the 2005-2006 Colonial Conference All-Sports Award for having the most first place finishes in the various Conference sports.

Purpose of the Blog
Blogging is an important part of information technology and the Internet. Blogging is a way in which millions of people share information through the Web. With this said, it is extremely important for us, as marketers, to understand blogging in order to be effective and efficient when marketing. Visiting the class blog to complete assignments has certainly engraved in my head that in order to be successful in BUAD477 I must become familar with the blogging process. I am looking forward to learning about blogging and am hopeful it will become a valuable resource to me in the future.

I have a blog
Well, setting up a blog was pretty simple. Even though I'm prepared for class now I'm crossing my fingers and hoping class will get cancelled. It really is pretty messy out.
